Recording a meeting or a phone call
Action Card has one button. Press it once to start recording — there is no mode to choose. The card works out what you are doing:
- On the table: it listens to the whole room, with pickup of up to 6 metres (about 20 feet).
- On the back of your phone during a call: it records your voice through its microphone, and the other side through the handset by bone conduction. Nothing needs to be installed on the other person’s end.
Start recording from the card
- Put the card on the table, or snap it onto the back of your phone for a call.
- Press the button once.
Start recording from a meeting reminder
When your calendar is connected in the DTEN app, your phone reminds you five minutes before a meeting starts, with a Start recording button right in the reminder. Tap it to start.
While it records
A running timer appears on your phone’s lock screen, so you can see at a glance that the card is still recording.
Stop recording
- Press the card’s button once, or
- Tap Stop on the lock-screen timer when the meeting ends.
After you stop, the recording is processed and the things you promised appear in the DTEN app under My Actions.
Tips
- A full charge covers up to 12 hours of continuous recording.
- Recording uses transcription minutes from your plan. See Plans, transcription minutes and team accounts.
- Tell people when you are recording, and follow the laws on recording conversations where you are.
